I won’t be around for the rest of the week due to the Thanksgiving holiday, so I figured I’d post this week’s ‘DWD’ now. And, while I’m at it, I decided to go with a ‘themed’ choice of sorts this week… Wink

Soooo… the Pilgrim's Pride Motel… well, I don’t know too much about this place at all. But, perhaps we can learn a little more together…

- The Pilgrim's Pride is a fairly simple, two-story, linear structure that sits on the northeast corner of New Jersey & Hildreth Ave. All rooms face west.

- Location-wise, it is situated one block north of the Crest border. It is also likely one of the westernmost motels on the island. Other motels of note (though little fame) out in that area include the Holly Beach and the Key.

- The PP is situated next door to the Ravioli House, so patrons of that restaurant may recognize it from their visits there.

- The motel would probably fall into what the DWPL would classify as the ‘Phoney Colonee’ style category.

Anyone else have any other info or thoughts on this place? Has anyone else even heard of the Pilgrim’s Pride? Huh

Maybe the owners' ancestors came over on the Mayflower or something? This place has always amused me, though. It's one of those motels that I very rarely even think about, until I happen to pass by it.

The building is obviously old, I figured it formerly served as a hotel/rooming house/bed n' breakfast-type of place at one time, but I don't know much about the history of the place...
