Thanks Sean. My little exercise was not meant to make people look at those shots if they hadn't already.

It was just an easy way of comparing apples to apples to see how to best facilitate viewing a large batch of pictures, because I still had the whole text of the original post including the URLs from my image host. But glad you enjoyed.
We were walking south on the beach after a brief tour of North Wildwood. You can see our perspective as we approached the spot shown in reply #34 if you look at the second shot in #33. So yeah, the pictures you asked about of the surf slapping the pilings were taken as we passed under Sportland Pier with the tide pretty high. You don't want to know how long it took me to figure that out, LOL, I hadn't thought about exactly where we were when I shot those. Boardwalk geek I am not. Partly because of too much brain fog around what is versus what was. I actually had to go to the Bing Maps bird's eye view and zoom in to make sure that was the Sportland sign on the west end of the pier next to Ocean Oasis.
We wandered into Ocean Oasis after that and had a drink at the bar there. Well, my friend did, some tricky $9 cocktail. I had a cup of coffee, which was cheap and actually quite good. Seattle's Best, I think the bartender said it was. It was literally the last hour of operation of the bar for 2009, and we were the only ones there. Kind of bittersweet because it had turned out to be such a lovely afternoon, with weather more like a busy August day than mid-September.
