'Out of Season': Mark Havens' WW photo project
Mar 2nd, 2010, 12:28am

After stealing a few minutes hunting for more pictures of the Satellite (I'll explain later) I was about to get off the computer and go cook that sausage that's aging in my fridge... really I was... when I came across this and HAD to post it:

http://www.markhavens.com/project/gallery/Out-of-Season/1

The first frame is simply text that reads: "Out of Season is a project about the vanishing architecture of Wildwood, New Jersey."

Words fail me. Just go look, if you haven't already seen it. (Great title, too...)

Yes, Mark has some great pictures there.  Excellent "photo album".  I've seen it before, but forgot to start a thread here - thanks, Kathi.

Some of these are almost painful to look at. It's a beautiful set; thanks for posting, Kathi.

I like how the scenes are intentionally lacking people. Maybe there are a few with one person in the distance (in the Caribbean, for example), but there are no cars, no people, not even a sea gull. Very cool.

Everyone:
Thanks for the kind words about Out of Season. Coming from folks who know Wildwood as well as you all do, it really means a lot to me.

I couldn't agree more—both individual images and the aggregate effect. That's why I left it at "words fail me." Thanks for supplying them.
