This post grew out of the topic, "What Do You do When You First Got To Wildwood?" Ad I didn't want to derail that topic, so I'm starting a new post here. One of the members asked for a few examples, and I provided this quote:
"And I mean, OBSCURE:
The Act: Snobbery and Decay (1988)
Shriekback: Everything That Rises (1985)
Mekanik Kommando: Stop & Play (1982)
Los Microwaves: What's That Got To Do With Loving You? (1980)
The Nobodys: I Scratch (1985)
Xex: Fashion Hurts (1980) One of New Jersey's new wave bands
Smersh: She is Nervous (1981, IIRC) Another New Jersey 1980s band
Glass Museum: Dumping Cart motion (1984)
Planning By Numbers: Living Neon (1982)"
I also added,
I know YouTube is a mecca for song piracy, but there may be songs here that are so obscure tat they're not even there! If you find this interesting, I can post more songs if you think these are intriguing, and maybe form another thread so this topic doesn't get derailed."
And I really like the music of those times. It was emotional and sensual. Sometimes these songs can still be heard in the best nightclubs in the world https://artistpush.me/blogs/news/20-the-best-nightclubs-in-the-world
Awesome! I don't know how much is on YT, because some is very obscure. Also, I love this:
Cee Farrow: Wildlife Romance (1983). This one is always on my playlists! I also like Synthicide by SSQ, which is Stacey Q before "Two of Hearts" (1986).
I'm gonna look some of these up tomorrow. Always down for some "new" music to hear. Specially older stuff I've never heard of.
