The parking lot at 2701 Ocean Ave has been purchased by the Moreys (2701 Associates LLC) for $3.3M. This was the lot where the Starlight Resort received CAFRA approval. It will be interesting to see what the Moreys do with the property.

I'd love to see it become a Jetsons-style parking garage! Last night I watched the first episode of the Jetsons, and paid attention to the mid-century architecture and interior design. The front desk at the robot shop looks so much like the front desk at the Starlux on Rio Grande Avenue! I just love it! We had a first season DVD of the Jetsons, but I just picked up a bare-bones complete series at WalMart. The local WalMart in Rio Grande is sold out. I bought the last one. It was only around for 2 weeks, and I don't know if more will be available. So check one in your area if you don't like in Cape May County.
Anyway, season 2 of the Jetsons is actually from the mid 1980s' robot/sci-fi toy & animation wave. That began with GoBots in 1984 and really took off with Transformers later that year. Us 80s kids got all kinds of great series like Silverhawks, Voltron, Tranzor Z, Mighty Orbots, Galaxy High, Captain Power & The Soldiers of The Future, and many others. Ressurecting the Jetsons was a perfect fit. There were over 50 new episodes shown on weekdays, and a new character was introduced, an alien pet named Orbity. The DVD's season 1 episodes were edited to include title cards featuring Orbity although he wasn't around in the 1960s' season. Okay, I can go on, but long story short, if you love Wildwood, you'll probably like the Jetsons. I recommend the DVD.
For people like me who hate Google, here's the map on Apple Maps, via Duck Duck Go (https://ddg.co):

And on Bing Maps (recommended to select AERIAL view)

parking is a great $ maker. Low overhead, minimal maintenance and labor needed.
They already own the boardwalk stores!!!
Here is a virtual view of the lot complete with a rendering of the hideous high-rise that was once planned for the lot. I'm very curious what the Morey's plan to do, 3.3 million is not a light purchase. It appears the lot does NOT include the boardwalk-front stores.
