So I was down in Wildwood with my son for 5 days at the beginning of this month and had a great time. Here are a couple pictures and observations:

We ate at the Mud Hen on Rio Grande Ave for the first time. We got some great barbeque and the service was excellent. That place is huge and they don't seem to be short for help.

They fixed the neon on the CocaCola sign and now it's working 100 percent! I didn't think anyone would work on this sign again...but they did. I wonder who maintains it? Coke?

The Zoom Floom was open and we finally got to ride it this season. Better late than never!

They have been busy getting ready for the Country Music concert on the beach. This concert is going to be huge and I think the island is going to be packed...if the weather holds out. This truck actually got stuck in the sand and needed help getting out.

They also put up extra fence along the boardwalk in front of the concert area. I guess they don't want people jumping off the boardwalk.

The new Green's Liquors warehouse is really moving along. This is located on New Jersey Ave at the former location of Woody's Bar.

Gateway got a new machine late in the season. We didn't try it, but it looked fun.

No, this isn't a slice of Mack's. I tried Jumbo's pizza on Mariner's Landing because my son gets a good employee discount on it. It's ok, but definitely no Mack's pizza. There is too much sauce and it is too sweet. Don't worry, I also got a slice of Mack's while I was down and it was fantastic.

And if you read my other post, you'll know I spent a day working on this old Coke machine on 24th Ave that hasn't worked in 9 years. I would always look at this machine and it was neat that I was actually able to bring it back to life. Of course, drinks are no longer 50 cents.
Well, summer is coming to an end and it's time to head back to school. I'll be back for labor day so I'll be looking forward to that.
great report as usual.. Thank you.
We have eaten at the Mudhen several times and it is very good. Course being from Toledo, our baseball team is the Mud Hens, so we are partial to the name.
Always appreciate reports and pics. Thanks for posting.......Warren
I hear great things about Mudhen. I think I'll try and make it over when I'm down in 2 weeks.
Really enjoyed your report! Mudhen has definitely become a go-to over the past couple of years, however we have it delivered as my son basically lives in the pool when we're down. It's nice to see the Coca Cola sign completely lit again. Last I heard, ABS Signs were fixing it up (at least as of the last time it needed to be repaired). It's interesting watching them build up the area for the country festival. I heard on the news that they're expecting over 30,000 people per day!
Great pictures as usual! it's good to see the Coca Cola sign fully working. The Mudhen looks like a great place, we are going to have to try to get there next time in town. That pizza looks very generic and bland. Can't believe summer is almost gone.
