There are plenty of jobs available for local youths, if they're interested in working.
Another kind of joke, more like a coincidence: Temp 102 degrees... the sign says watch FIRE signs.
Also, it is true: the skate fish won't harm us humans, and will try to not swim into us, either. It may be their mating season. In June, it's the horseshoe crabs' mating season, and they show up in their greatest numbers on the bay side of the peninsula at that time.
Did you have to do a screen grab of your trip report to post it Beach Cow? If so, that goes along with what I posted about the finicky forum.
I don't think the locals are being excluded from jobs on the island. I see many Jersey kids working for the Morey's. The fact is there are not enough locals to fill all the jobs needed for the summer. Believe me, the shops would love to have local kids since they would be able to work weekends into the winter.
Yes, posting a screen capture was the only way i managed to get this posted. And this was after a couple of days of messing around with it.
There is an overwhelming presence of European students in the Wildwood area filling Summer jobs. I just don't see this at other boardwalks in NJ or MD either.
@Beach Cow That's always been the case, at least as long as I can recall. What surprised me this summer was all the young adults from the far east, which I don't remember from years past. Of course, this is the time of year the foreign workers begin disappearing because I think their school year begins soon.

The Boardwalk Mall really is a joke, hopefully something better can come of that but apparently not with it's current ownership.
The things in the ocean are actually Cownose Rays, harmless as well. They usually win in small groups and will brush right past you.
