We were down from Friday to Sunday so that my son could work at Mariner's Arcade for the closing weekend. The weather was warm, but it was cloudy and rainy Saturday night. That really slowed things down...but we still had a good time. Here are a few pictures and observations.
I got my last piece of Mack's Pizza for the season and it was great! They close on Monday. We also got Curley's Fries and Kohr's Brother's to finish off the season right.
The new Bubba's Liquors on 18th and New Jersey is nearing completion...they even have the signage up.
The boardwalk was pretty empty Saturday night on the account of the rain. Gateway 26 was pretty dead. We did play some Fascination at Randy's Arcade for a while and talked to him for quite a bit. Eventually it was only my son and I playing Fascination, so I payed for Randy to play a couple games with us. I don't know if he was being easy on us...but I beat him both times!
The old night clubs on Pacific are coming down for the redevelopment. It looks like they are getting ready to move the old house that was on top of the Shamrock.
I haven't eaten at the Dragon House in over a decade...and I must admit that it is looking run down. It doesn't even look like they use the extra dining room anymore. I wonder if the redevelopment of Pacific will help this place...or they will sell out and close the business?
They were cleaning out an office or storage room at Splash Zone and had a huge dumpster full of stuff. I jumped in and pulled out two large plastic maps of the park that were used as framed signs at one time. Who knows...maybe I can sell them on ebay someday.
And that wraps up the 2021 Wildwood Season. My son had a good time working in the arcade and plans on returning next year. Hopefully things will be even more normal next year.
