A new business has just opened up in the same location as the former Doo Wop Drive Inn and Tony Luke's and I can't be more excited about it! The owners are a couple who have a son, Brandon, who is on the autism spectrum. Their mission was to find an inclusive place for those with special needs. As a
We were down to Wildwood from April 5th to the 8th and had a great time. It was nice on the 6th, but got colder as the week went on. Here are some observations. The hotel on Pacific seems to be close to finishing. They put huge digital signs on the outside walls...not sure if it makes it look a
My brother, daughter and I went to Waldameer Park in Erie, PA to visit the last operating Bill Tracy Wacky Shack. It still has most of its classic Bill Tracy stunts, although the stunts were mostly different than the Wildwood Wacky Shack. They also have a Bill Tracy funhouse called "Pirate's Cove"

I came across these recently posted videos and thought I'd share. Some cool footage from the early 60's, including some night boardwalk footage in the 62 video! (the Wildwood footage starts around the 7 min mark in 1963's video)
This is a bit outdated. I was going to post this earlier this past summer, however my laptop died- along with all my bookmarks. Back on August 7, The Dom Giordano Program on Philadelphia talk radio station 1210 WPHT interviewed Wildwood Mayor Ernie Troiano. It was supposed to be an interview abou

Here is a look back to 2012 when Morey's Piers ran Morey's Fears for the second and last year. My son in front of the Morey's Fears entrance. The spooky teacups. They added some extra gore to the Ghost Shop. They changed Pirates of Wildwood into "The Other Side". Spooky ambience. The
It looks like a new Starbucks will be coming across from the McDonald's on Rio. They are going before the planning board next month. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on the 6th day of June, 2022, at 6:00 p.m., prevailing time, a hearing will be held before the Planning and Zoning Board of the City of Wildw
As the countdown to summer 2020 continues, and inspired by Bill's retro report, I thought I'd have some fun and do one as well: a trip report of my first time in Wildwood. I don't have much video of it (less than a minute, either battery issues or my dad accidentally taped over it) , I'll have to lo

My son and I were back in Wildwood this past weekend. Here are some more observations: They are still working to replace all the draw poker monitors in Mariner's Arcade. They had custom glass panels made to replace the openings were the old monitors were. Jumbos was changed to Founder's Grub
My son and I went down to Wildwood for a day trip to check on the house. The weather was nice...chilly, but sunny. Here are some pictures and observations. Vegas is staying open all winter this year. They are open everyday from 8 to 2. Gateway put a digital sign in the back. They have a used B
We were down this weekend for our final trip of the season. My son worked in Mariner's Arcade Saturday & Sunday...and they were very busy. The rest of the boardwalk didn't seem very busy. The weather was nice and we had a good trip. Here are some pictures and observations. Many shops in the ce
Hard to believe, but 1993 was the first year I stayed in Wildwood at 7 years old. Though I took a gap and didn't stay from 2004-2012, I've been going every year for the past 10 years. I'll once again be staying at the Shalimar. 8/26-8/31. Can't wait!!
This post grew out of the topic, "What Do You do When You First Got To Wildwood?" Ad I didn't want to derail that topic, so I'm starting a new post here. One of the members asked for a few examples, and I provided this quote: "And I mean, OBSCURE: The Act: Snobbery and Decay (1988) Shriekback: Ev
Anyone on social media has probably seen this already but the condominium conversion of the OceanView Motel in the Crest fell through a new group purchased the motel with plans of a full renovation and building off of the mid-century modern design. The renderings look fantastic and the OceanView wil
Still hitting me that vacation is over and I go back to teaching tomorrow (ugh) . So, since I have to prepare for tomorrow, I will spare the day by day breakdown of what I did and share the two videos of my vacation I posted on my Youtube.
So my family and I went down to Wildwood this weekend so that my son could work at Mariner's Arcade on Saturday and Sunday. The weather was great and we had a nice time, but the unsanctioned H2O car event put a blemish on the trip. There were endless kids with loud obnoxious cars driving up and do
